Our story began the (now) traditional way -- online! We reached out to each other and talked on the phone. Then it was time to meet for dinner. And quite frankly, we had each other "at hello!"

On February 19, 2022, we had a DTR (Discuss the Relationship) and became exclusive partners.

After nearly two years of continuing to share love, friendship, family, loss and much laughter ... on January 13, 2024 (a cold and windy day), Jim "bent the knee" on the steps of the U.S. Capitol and warmed Carolyn's heart when he asked her to marry him! Carolyn's response was, "Yes, absolutely!" A nice looking young gentleman nearby was asked to snap some pictures. As it turned out, he was visiting DC from Texas and had no idea how he'd become such a key part of capturing our special moment!
